PDMS supports Junior Achievement Loyalty Card for volunteers
Junior Achievement Isle of Man (JA) recently held an event to launch their new volunteer card scheme, and PDMS is delighted to show our continued support by sponsoring this fantastic initiative.
The JA Loyalty Card has been introduced to acknowledge the support of local volunteers who devote their time and expertise to support a variety of programmes to help students.
About JA
Junior Achievement Isle of Man is a charity which utilises the support of local professionals to help young people on the Island gain essential skills to get a job or start their own business. For over 40 years, it has been an essential tool for children as young as primary school age to learn skills which will benefit them in the future. JA is a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, which is one of the largest and most influential non-profit organisations in the world, delivering hands-on, immersive learning experiences.
PDMS and JA
PDMS is a long term supporter of Junior Achievement and many of our staff make good use of our company volunteering scheme to support JA’s great work in our local schools.
At the launch event Joanne Pontee, Chief Marketing Officer at PDMS, explained:
“At PDMS, we believe volunteering is a virtuous circle – a circle of goodness, not only benefiting our island community but also contributing to the wellbeing of our staff. Of course, we are passionate about supporting JA because of the hugely positive impact they have on our island’s young people – helping to educate and prepare them with the skills they need to get a job or start their own business. But we also recognise that volunteering is great for our staff too – it creates opportunities to learn new skills such as coaching, to make new connections and has even been shown to increase happiness. Volunteering really does benefit a person in both a professional and a personal capacity.”
Joanne continued to say:
“This is why at PDMS we are proud to sponsor the new Volunteer Loyalty Card scheme which not only rewards the fantastic volunteers for giving their time and expertise so generously, but also helps to support our local businesses at a time when trading conditions are tougher than usual.”
Usage and benefits of the JA Loyalty Card
Every JA volunteer will receive a personalised card, symbolising their valuable contribution to the wider JA mission. To access the discounts and advantages provided by the JA business partners, volunteers should present their Loyalty Card at participating businesses prior to completing a purchase or payment.
The card can be used to gain discounts at an abundance of businesses on the island, including coffee shops, restaurants, beauty clinics, fitness, and fashion. Not only does it benefit the mission of JA, but also helps to support local businesses by helping to increase their footfall.
